How to Transfer a Picture from a Blackberry Pearl to an Apple Macbook Via Bluetooth

This set of instructions guides a user on how to transfer a picture file from a BlackBerry Pearl cell phone to an Apple MacBook. As many other cell phones, Blackberries are camera enabled and one of their several features is being able to transfer these pictures from the memory in the BlackBerry to a Bluetooth enabled laptop wirelessly without having to deal with USB cables. By completing these instructions, the user will have successfully transferred a picture file from their BlackBerry Pearl to their Apple MacBook in which the stored picture file can be viewed, edited, sent via email, uploaded online, or printed out.
STEPS

SCROLL DOWN AND CLICK THE “BLACKBERRY MENU” ICON AT THE BOTTOM LEFT OF THE HOME SCREEN.

HIGHLIGHT AND CLICK THE CAMERA ICON, WHICH IS THE ICON TO THE FAR RIGHT IN THE SECOND ROW FROM THE TOP.
Note: The screen will become a snapshot view of what the camera is viewing.

PRESS THE BLACKBERRY LOGO KEY ON THE KEYPAD FOUND DIRECTLY TO THE LEFT OF THE “PEARL.”

HIGHLIGHT AND CLICK THE “VIEW PICTURES” OPTION IN THE POP UP MENU.

HIGHLIGHT THE PICTURE YOU WISH TO TRANSPORT.

PRESS THE BLACKBERRY LOGO KEY ON THE KEYPAD FOUND DIRECTLY TO THE LEFT OF THE “PEARL.”

SCROLL DOWN AND CLICK THE “SEND USING BLUETOOTH” OPTION.

HIGHLIGHT AND CLICK THE DEVICE NAME OF THE RECEIVING APPLE MACBOOK.
Note: Do not highlight the “HANDS FREE” option, which is for connecting a hands free headset to the phone.

CLICK “ACCEPT” ON THE POP UP WINDOW THAT APPEARS ON THE MACBOOK SCREEN.
Note: The transfer will automatically begin. The BlackBerry Pearl must be within one foot of the Apple MacBook for the file to be able to transfer.
Note: You will see a progress bar appear on both the BlackBerry and MacBook screens as the transfer is occurring.

CLICK “SHOW” ON THE POP UP WINDOW THAT APPEARS ON THE MACBOOK SCREEN.

DOUBLE CLICK THE HIGHLIGHTED PICTURE FILE IN THE FOLDER WINDOW THAT POPS UP ON THE MACBOOK SCREEN.

VIEW THE PICTURE ON THE MACBOOK SCREEN.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If at anytime you wish to go back a step, press the “back arrow” key that is found directly to the right of the “pearl.”
If at step eight the transfer fails to begin automatically, make sure that the BlackBerry Pearl is within one foot of the Apple MacBook, push in the “pearl,” and repeat steps six through eight.
If picture transfer fails, make sure that the Bluetooth in the Apple MacBook is in “Discoverable” mode, which can be determined by clicking on the Bluetooth icon in the right hand corner of the screen.
If picture transfer still fails, contact your BlackBerry Pearl and Apple MacBook dealers to ensure proper function of the Bluetooth technology in both devices.
