3 Ways to Connect Your iPhone to Your TV - wikiHow

Wouldn't it be great to be able to show people video from your iPhone on your TV? Luckily, there are multiple ways to connect your iPhone to a larger screen to increase viewing comfort. Any of them will work, just choose which one you like!
STEPS
METHOD 1 OF 3: USING AN HDMI CABLE

PURCHASE AN HDMI CABLE AND AN APPLE DIGITAL AV ADAPTER. These can be found online or at an electronics store.

CONNECT THE CABLE AND THE ADAPTOR. Then, plug the adaptor into your iPhone.

PLUG THE HDMI CABLE INTO YOUR TV. Locate the HDMI port (usually on the side or back of your TV) and plug in your cable.

SWITCH YOUR TV TO THE CORRECT INPUT. You'll have to change the input of your TV to display the contents of the iPhone. Once you have done this, videos and photos on supported applications will show up on your TV!
METHOD 2 OF 3: USING AN ANALOG CONNECTION

PURCHASE AN APPLE COMPOSITE AV CABLE. These can be found online or at an electronics store.

PLUG THE CABLE INTO YOUR IPHONE.

FIND THE YELLOW END OF THE PLUG. Plug it into an analog video port on your TV. Then, plug the red and white ends into the red and white audio ports on your TV. Make sure the audio ports correspond with the video port.

SWITCH YOUR TV TO THE CORRECT INPUT. You'll have to change the input of your TV to display the contents of the iPhone. Once you have done this, videos and photos on supported applications will show up on your TV once you start playing them on the device!
METHOD 3 OF 3: WIRELESSLY, USING AIRPLAY

MAKE SURE THAT ALL YOUR DEVICES SUPPORT AIRPLAY. Airplay was developed by Apple specifically for streaming content wirelessly between iOS devices.

CONNECT ALL YOUR AIRPLAY DEVICES TO THE SAME WIRELESS NETWORK. The streaming will not work over 4G/LTE.

DOUBLE TAP THE HOME BUTTON ON YOUR IPHONE. Swipe the list to the right, until you get to AirPlay settings.

TAP THE AIRPLAY BUTTON. This will show you a list of AirPlay devices you can stream to. A TV icon means you can stream images, video, and audio, while a speaker icon means you can only stream audio.
TIPS
If you have a second generation Apple TV and an iPhone 4S, you can select Mirroring through AirPlay to mirror your phone's display on your TV.
